News - July 2008
We are planning to refit the Oliver Cromwell Paddle Wheeler as a static hotel and restaurant this winter, so she won't be sailing next year. The increasing costs of keeping it going as a cruise vessel are proving simply uneconomic. Therefore, if you would like to take a holiday cruise with us on this unique vessel, this year is your last chance to secure a booking.
With this news, our remaining cabins on scheduled cruises are filling up very fast and we have decided to add a special 'Swan Song' cruise on 26th September 2008. Welcome to English Holiday Cruises and a holiday in England which is truly different. Our vessels Oliver Cromwell and Edward Elgar are the biggest inland riverboat hotels in the UK. We are a family company aiming to deliver a warm and professional level of hospitality. We provide holidays and cater for special events such as Board Meetings, Christmas Parties or Private Charters.

There's the Abbey in Tewkesbury and Cathedrals in Gloucester and Worcester, the picturesque towns of Upton, Stourport and Bewdley and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Slimbridge. There are also some excellent shopping opportunities.
- Warm Hostpitality: All our cruises provide full board, morning games fun on deck, evening entertainment such as a quiz or live music and well stocked bars. The captains, cruise managers and staff make customer safety and service their highest priorities.
- Comfortable accommodation: Our vessels are true floating hotels, not narrow cramped and draughty barges. The retaurants and lounges are spacious and there are quiet areas for reading and board games. The cabins are cosy and most of them provide an outside window, twin beds and full en-suite facilities. All inboard areas are climate controlled and the decks provide commanding views across the countryside.
- Variety and Convenience: You can choose between two, four or six day cruises on Oliver Cromwell or two and six day cruises on Edward Elgar. Holiday sailings run from April to October. Our home port of Gloucester is easy to reach by coach, rail or road from anywhere in the country.
