Staff Recruitment for Summer 2010
Are you interested in a unique job on Britain's largest riverboat Hotels? We are now recruiting for our 2010 season and have a vacancies for a Chef, Deckhand and Steward/ess on MV Edward Elgar. This year our season has been extended and will be starting in April and continuing on into October. We cruise almost every day and you will work with a variety of different people and customers.
We offer a unique working environment. You will be provided with accomodation and meals to live on board whilst you are working, and will also accumulate holiday pay.
We train all of our staff before the season begins although experience in hospitality work such as working in a bar or restaurant is required. You will be working hard but it is rewarding work and a fun working environment.

Postions Available
Position : Chef
Start Date : 01/04/10
Pay : £320pw depending on experience
We have a vacancy for a Chef on board our River Cruise Holiday Boat 'Edward Elgar'
We provide 2,4 and 6 night full board holiday cruises on the River Severn for up to 22 passengers. Passengers and crew live on board for the duration of the cruises so this is a live in position.
We have a high standard of catering on board. On most days three meals will need to be prepared including Full English Breakfast, buffet salad lunches and three course evening meals. There is a galley on board with modern equipment and all stock is kept on board as well. The successful applicant will have experience in stock management and minimising wastage. They will also need to place and receive orders of food stock. This is kept to as minimal a level as possible as there is only limited space on the vessel for storage! We frequently have requests for special diets including menus for diabetics and gluten free options.
We are a family company and provide an excellent environment to work in. You will be working with 3 other crew members comprising of the Skipper, First mate and Stewardess. Each crew member has their main area of responsibility but good team work is key to being sucessful in this role.
We already have a full cruising season booked and we offer a unique opportunity to work on board a busy River Cruise holiday boat with lots of satisfied customers, many of whom come more than once a year. Position : Deckhand
Start Date : 1/04/10
Pay : £280pw depending on experience
The Deckhand on board has responsibilities both for deck management and customer service. The deck role involves keeping deck areas clean and tidy, as well as helping the skipper with moorings. Ideally we are looking for a candidate with mechanical engineering experience. MCA AEC certified preferred but not essential. Any marine engineering experience is also taken into consideration.
The customer service includes bar work, food service, cleaning, and dealing with complaints or organizing customers for days out, embarkation, disembarkation or complaints management.
This is a varied role with good rates of pay and tips, an interesting working environment and would suit someone who is good at working as part of a small but very hard working live in crew.

Position Available : Steward/ess

This position involves a variety of roles including food service, cleaning, bar work and lots of customer service. As one member of a four person live in crew the successful candidate must be good at working as part of a team.
We offer an interesting working environment on a cruising river boat. This would be an ideal summer job for someone with Chalet host experience. Hard work but good fun with good rates of pay and excellent tips.
